Typopath

Designers face difficulties attaining specific typographic effects when working with the Arabic script on Adobe Illustrator, such as placing connected letters along a path or wrapping connected letters around 2D and 3D shapes. Typopath is a generative, online tool that helps designers working with Arabic type achieve such effects quickly. Typopath aims to expand and tackle other pressing issues concerning the possibility of attaining specific typographic outcomes with the Arabic script that are otherwise difficult to reach using conventional digital tools. My motivation stems from my personal struggles as a designer when working with the Arabic script. It is difficult to wrap and manipulate Arabic typography when using programs like Adobe Illustrator because the horizontal connection between the letters break up immediatly. The program treats them as disconnected letters, which makes it difficult to attain specfic typographical effects without having to manually fix and edit every glyph/letter. This motived me to create a tool that simplifies that process and offers a solution for designers struggling with similar issues.
