Eid Greeting

A form of visual communication that gets circulated frequently and receives a lot of exposure is Eid greetings. However, almost every Eid we receive the same generic and dated graphics. These greetings have a lot of potential; they do not have to be kitsch, and they most certainly can be quite impactful. In my pursue of exploring this notion, I looked into my own heritage and culture, and saw this as a chance to create something beautiful but also meaningful. In this design, I drew inspiration from the ornaments and floral motifs in historic Syrian tile designs. Besides emphasizing these greetings and making well-design Arabic graphics more accessible to the public, my aim was to also celebrate and preserve this rich craft.
